The 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores semi-finals will be played over two weeks in October. Fluminense and Palmeiras open the stage on 14 October at the Maracanã, while Estudiantes host Flamengo on 15 October at Estadio UNO Jorge Luis Hirschi in La Plata. Palmeiras and Flamengo are the home teams for the second legs, so they close their respective semi-final ties at home.

CONMEBOL published the schedule on 21 September 2026. The official fixture also confirms Estadio UNO Jorge Luis Hirschi as the venue for the first leg between Estudiantes and Flamengo, replacing earlier media references to a venue that was still awaiting confirmation.

Who hosts the second leg?

In the all-Brazilian tie, Fluminense host the first match and Palmeiras host the return leg. The second match of Fluminense vs Palmeiras will therefore be played in São Paulo at NuBank Parque on 21 October.

In the other semi-final, Estudiantes host Flamengo in La Plata in the first leg. The return match will be at the Maracanã on 22 October, with Flamengo as the home team. Palmeiras and Flamengo are therefore the two clubs that play the second leg at home.

How the bracket leads to the final

The two semi-finals are separate ties: the winner of Fluminense vs Palmeiras will face the winner of Estudiantes vs Flamengo in the final. The 2026 Libertadores final is scheduled for 28 November at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo and will be played as a single match.

Hosting the second leg does not create an additional tiebreaking advantage. Under the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Club Manual, goal difference is the first tiebreaking criterion for the semi-final. If the teams remain level, the place in the final is decided by a penalty shootout. The rules do not include extra time as an intermediate step in the semi-final.
